This class is perfect for anyone wanting to learn a solid set of wig styling fundamentals. Participants will learn
Pre-requisites – None
Note – The emphasis for this class is on fundamental techniques that will form a solid base for wig styling. The information and techniques can be used for a wide range of wig styling, but are most likely to beneficial to those wishing to style wigs for theatre/film, cosplayers, or those wishing to re-create historical styles. This class will not cover cutting or coloring wigs, nor any chemical processes.

This class builds upon the skills covered in Fundamentals of Wig Styling. Participants should have taken the Fundamentals course or have experience in wig styling. Participants will learn:

This specialty class covers the fundamentals of the original “big hair”. The participants will learn how to re-create a range of 18th century styles, and will then execute an 18th century style using a modern wig. Course includes
Notes – This course focuses on hairstyles worn in the 18th century, recreated with modern commercially produced wigs. It does not cover dressing one’s own hair,though many of the techniques would apply. It is not intended as a course in historically accurate hairdressing, though some of the techniques have their basis in the 18th century. The goal of the course is to teach participants how to style modern wigs for use with 18th century dress.
For this course, you may bring a wig with you to style in class. You may also opt to purchase a wig from us for use in the class. In both cases, we suggest that you consult with us about your wig to make sure it will provide you with a good starting point. We will have wigs available for use in the class if you do not have a wig already or do not wish to purchase one.
Pre-Requisites – None, but familiarity with 18th century hairstyles and aesthetics and a bit of experience in handling wigs is advised.

This specialty course discusses popular hairstyles worn by women in the Regency era, and demonstrates techniques for re-creating those styles. The course will include demonstrations in dressing the hair, styling and using hairpieces and adding decorations and embellishments to a coiffure. Unlike our other classes, this one day course is based on demonstration and lecture, and is intended to provide techniques and ideas for styling one’s own hair or wig into a Regency hairstyle.
